Dr. Liu began his medical career by being granted a guaranteed admission to medical school as part of Brown University's medical education program. After graduating from Brown, Dr. Liu went on to complete his medical education at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, graduating with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
From there, Dr. Liu completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at the UCLA Medical Center--a program rated "Best in the West" by US News and World Reports. During this leg of Dr. Liu's training, he was awarded multiple research and teaching accolades.
Additionally, Dr. Liu won a National Research Service Award, which includes a significant grant with which he was able to investigate surgical and health care quality in the US.
Dr. Liu went on to participate in a prestigious UCLA Plastic Surgery Fellowship, after which he was offered a position as Assistant Instructor and Aesthetic Fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center delivers one of the most coveted subspecialty fellowships in the US. It offers highly advanced and specialized training in aesthetic plastic surgery. While on this fellowship, Dr. Liu trained directly with plastic surgery authorities and leaders, studying comprehensive techniques for facelift surgery, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and a variety of body contouring procedures.
